Bill's Seafood Market was established over forty years ago in Sunset Beach, NC with a mission to provide fresh, local seafood to our residents and seasonal visitors. Since that time we have grown into a full coastal market, with fresh, local seafood; homemade daily prepared pies, sauces, dips, crab cakes, slaw, and more; a full To Go / Carryout menu; as well as fresh bait and tackle, beer and wine, shirts and other apparel, coastal gifts and decor and more.We have just added a second location in Holden Beach! Fish Headz Seafood Market is now part of the Bill's Seafood Market team! We are hiring for both Bill's Seafood Market of Sunset Beach and Fish Headz in Holden Beach.We are seeking to add to our top flight team of customer focused and dedicated Market Clerks. In this role you will be proactive in greeting and assisting customers always. Our Market is split into two sections, with the fresh seafood market occupying one half and retail the other. We would prefer to have someone who can work both sides and/or be cross trained to work in seafood and retail. But we are in need of someone to work the retail side of the market assisting customers, running the register to check our guests out, some very light shelf stocking and maintenance of displays (including facing stock in our beverage coolers as needed), pricing items, etc.If you have experience working in a seafood market all the better! Cutting fish, handling seafood, and assisting customers in a busy seafood market are prioritized skills, especially if you are willing to cross train into the retail side of our market.Experience in a fresh seafood market or retail market is highly preferred, but not necessary. We will train the right candidate, and it is not a job requirement to work with fresh seafood to be a retail market clerk or vice versa. We are seeking more than one team member.A Seafood Clerk’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Providing premier customer service, including greeting our guests and responding to questionsCutting and preparing seafood for saleDynamically selling product by providing customers with information needed to make product-related decisionsOperating scaleAssisting in ordering the proper amount of product for the Seafood departmentMaintaining, filling and rotating product and displaying it properlyMaintaining Bill’s Seafood Market’s high standards for product freshness and sanitationSelecting and wrapping product at customer’s requestCleaning scales and cutting areasAssisting in the set-up of demonstrationsAssisting in other duties as assignedA Market Clerk’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Providing premier customer service, including greeting guests and responding to questionsOperating the cash register and efficiently checking out our customers when they are ready to payDynamically selling product by providing customers with information needed to make product-related decisionsLight stocking of our retail shelves and refrigerated displays as neededAssisting the Market Manager by letting her know what items we are low on for reorderRotating product in our beverage coolers for proper display and marketingMaintaining Bill's Seafood Market's high standards for cleanliness and sanitationAssisting in other duties as assignedBill's Seafood Market and Fish Headz are open seven days a week, 800a to 800p in the summer season, with reduced hours in the fall, winter, and spring. Candidates should be available to work a six to eight hour shift (typically only six hours) during our normal operating hours. Shifts are flexible: sometimes mornings, sometimes afternoons, early evening (to close).
